Dr. Biplab Jamatia

• Dr. Biplab Jamatia hails from Hadra village, Udaipur of Tripura. He did his M.B.B.S. from B.R.D. Medical College, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and then went on to become an M.D. in Community Medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He believes that education is one of the most important tools for development and constructive change. Through inclusive education, we can build a better tomorrow and open the gate of opportunities for all. To achieve this one must provide practical education where lessons are not restricted to the classroom but flows into the dat-to-day lived experience of the children. He wishes to break waay from the traditional view of education as the means towards mechanical learning. The existing ideas of "development" needs to be re-evaluated to focus on augmenting the values of human beings and this emphasis on humanity should be reflected in the School curriculum.
